Hello and Welcome to our brand new website. It's filled with fun facts, pictures, contact information and best of all, we now have a DONATION BUTTON! 😁

Ok, this might not be exciting to you, but being technologically challenged, the button and website were a big hurdle. We are so thankful to have a tech-savvy volunteer. Got to love people, willing to lend a hand.

So take your time, visit get to know us and the wonderful work we do for YOU! That's right, saving history, benefits all of us. Whether you realize it or not, history connects us.

Think about this, when we go on vacation, wherever it is, we see the history that was saved. We seek out these places to visit, enjoy and learn from. Aren’t you thankful there are places like this to visit? Ever wonder how these sites get saved? VOLUNTEERS that’s how. Well, why not here? “A prophet has no honor in his hometown”. Take it further, meaning we travel outside our own town to see history because we don’t think our back yard is important or interesting enough. We’re trying to change that. Local history is important, because, IT IS in our back yard. People long ago built homes and businesses. They worked and played here, just like we do today. Forefathers that shaped our Township. Aren't you a bit curious?

So here comes the pitch. It's not easy being “green”. Sorry I meant it’s not easy saving history. It’s too much fun and you get to meet new people, yuck! And the rewards for volunteering sometimes is just too much to bear. Like feeling tired, but rewarding at the end of the day. Being able to see a building that was saved with your efforts, from the wrecking ball, just because it's old, now getting a new life. Seeing a smile on a young child's face, when they touch an old piece of wood or handle a piece of paper dating back 200 years. Educating our young people in the importance of architecture, agriculture, arts and just plain hard work from the past. Ok if you're still willing to step up to the challenge, PLEASE volunteer. We can’t do this without you!!!

My personal pet peeve-
“Why didn’t someone do something about that, before it was demolished”.

Remember: “Once a building is down, it’s gone forever”!

When this day is over, it’s history. Make yours count!
